Musculoskeletal ultrasound is one of the hottest topics for sonographers. A couple years ago I was invited to a conference to give a presentation on MSK ultrasound to a group of sonographers. Here is my presentation:
I wish all my cases were as obvious as this supraspinatus tear! Seriously though, if you are looking for a place to start learning MSK ultrasound I would study the shoulder first. It is complicated at first but an important compreshensive exam to learn.
Two years ago I was working hard on developing protocols for myself to follow utilizing the few resources that were available at the time and learning the shoulder exam is where I started. I’m finally starting to see more resources becoming available and plan to follow up with a post about the protocols I use and helpful resources for others who are interested in learning MSK sonography.
